School Supply List

Supplies

Farmington Public Schools provides all supplies and materials necessary for your child’s successful school experience. Our experience shows, however, that students will produce better work and treat materials with more responsibility when they voluntarily furnish some of their own supplies. If you prefer that your child have his/her own supplies, we suggest the following:

Kindergarten

· Family sized Kleenex box

· 2 Glue Sticks

First Grade

· Generic baby wipes

· Family sized Kleenex box

· Crayons (16 count)

· No individual pencil sharpeners

· Markers

· Pencils

· Erasers

Second Grade

· Family sized Kleenex box

· 2 folders (pocket at bottom and fasteners in middle)

· Small pencil box

· 1 marbled composition notebooks

· 1 yellow highlighter

· Crayons (16 count)

· 4 Dozen pencils sharpened

· No individual pencil sharpeners

· Disinfecting wipes

· Large Glue Sticks

· Washable markers (8 count)

· Scissors

· 2 Black Expo dry erase markers

· 1 White board eraser

· 1 One inch white binder w/pockets and clear cover

· 1 pack of page dividers

Third Grade

Items to be donated for classroom use throughout the year:

· 2 Family sized Kleenex box

· 2 dozen sharpened pencils

· Crayons (16 or 24 count limit)

· Glue Sticks

· 2 Yellow highlighter

· 2 Erasers

· Hand sanitizer

· Child size sicissors

Items to bring for your child’s individual use:

· 5 folders with pockets at bottom – red, yellow, blue, green and orange

· 1 blue 1” three ring binder with color tab dividers

· Pencil pouch or case, not box

· Backpack

· 2 composition books

· No mechanical pencils, individual pencil sharpeners, staplers, trapper keepers, or toys.

Fourth Grade

· Family sized Kleenex box

· Pencil pouch, not box

· Scissors

· Markers

· Crayons (16 or 24 count)

· Glue sticks

· Colored pencils

· 6 individual pocket folders

· Yellow highlighter

· 100 page, wide ruled spiral notebook

· Handheld calculator

· No mechanical pencils, individual pencil sharpeners, staplers, trapper keepers, or toys.

Fifth Grade

· Family sized Kleenex box

· Black and white bound composition book

· Pencil pouch, not box

· 5 folders with pocket at bottom – red, blue, green, yellow and decorated

· 4 section divided spiral notebook; blue preferably

· Scissors

· Handheld Calculator

· Glue Sticks

· Yellow highlighter

· Markers (8 count)

· Colored pencils

· Crayons (16 or 24 count limit)

· 1-60 pg. spiral notebook; green preferably

· 1-60 pg. spiral notebook; red preferably

Grades 3-5: For Writer’s Workshop students will need a black and white bound composition book. The dimensions of the book should be 9 ¾” x 7 ½” and contain 100 sheets of paper.

All Grades:For your child’s safety, separate gym shoes for gym are recommended and will remain at school for scheduled gym days. Also a school bag/backpack will keep your child’s possessions together coming to and from school. Please label each personal item with your child’s name.
